Piazza Navona is dominated by Gian Lorenzo Bernini’s impressive Fountain of the Four Rivers. One of the statues representing a river has its hand raised, to block the view from above.   Piazza Navona is on the site of the stadium of the Emperor Diocletian, and still follows the same long oval shape.
